Sheppard Software: Medical Jargon
Sheppard Software offers flashcard activities for several different categories of medical terminology, including the diagnosis and treatment of strokes, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer and arrhythmia. It also has a general set of over 300 medical words. These quizzes are separated into multiple levels. Level one presents the vocabulary word to define. Level two provides the definition and asks you for the term. Level three helps cement the words in your memory, asking you to spell them after hearing them. Helpful diagrams are also displayed in each section.
Medical Gross Anatomy Games
The University of Michigan’s Medical School offers a variety of different games to help students learn anatomy on this website. First, there are interactive crossword puzzles to help you learn vocabulary. Then, there is a list of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire Doctor?" review games spanning topics such as the nervous system, the spinal cord and nerve, movements of the limbs and joints, autonomics, and peritoneal development. There is also a list of anatomy "Jeopardy" games you can play spanning even more anatomy topics.
Medical Training Games
This website dedicated to medical training resources has an extensive list of games and activities to assist medical students. The different game types include battleship, fill-in-the-blank activities, hangman, matching and concentration games, quizzes, word searches and flash cards. They also offer a wide array of topics including game titles such as "The Trauma Patient," "Soft-Tissue Injuries," "Cardiovascular Terms," "Field Sanitation" and "Dosage Equivalents Matching." Many of the games also help you practice a variety of medical terminology. The range of activities could keep you engaged for long periods of time.

This is another website that links to many different medical learning activities and games, some of which are more interactive but still educational. "Chemland" links to several simulated chemistry activities. "Immune Attack" is an educational video game funded by the National Science Foundation. It teaches you about immunology. Another extensive game is "Pulse." It is interactive and simulates health-care facilities and procedures.
