Bingo
The group organizer needs to create a bingo scorecard using a variety of topics about a group of people and announce whether the winner will need to complete a row, a column, or an entire card. Topics for each square might include: someone who speaks French; someone who watches the TV show Project Runway; someone who has traveled to Bermuda; someone who is a good at chess; someone who knows how to play bridge; etc. The crowd mingles and tries to find someone who meets the criteria for a certain square. The person who meets the criteria initials the square. Once all the squares in a row, column, or for the entire card, have been initialed, the card holder yells, "Bingo!"
Business Cards
Everyone writes a question on a business size card about something she always wanted to know about. The crowd mingles and finds another person to ask the question of and receive an answer. Each pair of people exchange question cards and each find another person to ask the new question. The process is repeated as many times as desired.
Circle of Laps
Participants form a circle with everyone facing one another (not facing into the center of the circle) and standing close together. At a signal from the organizer, everyone slowly begins to squat and to sit in the lap of the person behind them. Hilarity ensues! It is possible to form a large circle of laps, so the group can try and try again.
String Web
Participants stand in a circle. One person holds a ball of yarn and says her name and her favorite book or favorite food. She tosses the ball to someone else in the circle while still holding onto the end of the yarn. The next person repeats the process, stating his name and favorite. The process is continued until everyone has spoken and a massive web has been formed.
