How to Solve the Tetris Cube

While video gamers may be familiar with the traditional game of falling blocks known as Tetris, puzzle aficionados can try their hand at a three-dimensional version of the game in the form of the Tetris Cube. The goal of this puzzle is to arrange 12 unique pieces to form one complete cube. These pieces can be shifted and arranged in multiple ways to find one of the cube's numerous solutions. Solving the Tetris Cube requires players to understand of how each piece fits together within the cube.

Instructions

    • 1

Arrange the red group from left to right. The first piece should resemble a lowercase "Y." The second piece should resemble a "V." The third piece features five cubes, with four forming a square with one sticking out. The last piece resembles a "T" laying flat next to an "I."

    • 2

Arrange the blue group from left to right, with the first piece being a "Z," the second piece resembling a "Z" with an additional protruding cube, the third piece being a "V" with an additional protruding cube at the end and the last piece forming a "V" with a cube protruding from the middle.

    • 3

Arrange the yellow group starting with the piece that resembles a twisted "S," followed by the piece that resembles a "T." The third yellow piece resembles an "L" with a protruding cube, and the final piece is in the shape of an "X."

    • 4

Place the yellow "L" piece in the top right corner of the Tetris Cube box. The "L" should be positioned to resemble a "7." Add the "T-I" red piece so that the "I" hugs the upper left corner of the box and the right end of the "T" fits into the yellow "L."

    • 5

Arrange the blue "V" with the middle protrusion so that the protrusion is nestled between the red and yellow pieces and one end of the "V" extends up the bottom-right corner of the box. Add the yellow "X" piece into the bottom-left corner so that one edge rests on the blue "V" and one end rests on the red "T-I." The actual corner will be left open.

    • 6

Insert the blue protruding "Z" piece so that the top end fits into the open space at the top of the Tetris Cube and the protruding cube veers to the left wall. Place the red "L" piece one space over from the right wall and into a three-cube slot. The top of the "L" will reach the top of the box.

    • 7

Place the red "Y" tail-down into the open corner on the bottom left of the box. Slot the yellow "T" into the top side of the box of the "T" extending inward. Insert the twisted yellow "S" to the right of the red "Y" extending to the top of the box.

    • 8

Place the blue "V" in the upper-right corner of the box with the protrusion bordering the twisted yellow "S." Insert the blue "Z" flat on the top left of the cube and slot the final red piece into the open top corner.
