Games for Girls Only

Helping young girls bond can be tricky, especially if they are meeting for the first time. Games are a great way to help them discover team unity and have fun in a clean, safe way. Get them started and soon you'll see them go from strangers to great friends.
  1. Blob Tagging Game

    • Make one girl "It" and have everyone else hide or run. The girl who is "It" tags any girl she can, and they then link arms to make a bigger "It." After a few tags, "It' will become a linked blob running to catch more girls. You're bound to see a lot of stumbling and laughing as the groups grows and keeps chasing girls.

This game is best played outside, since it can get pretty rowdy.

    Great Cotton Ball Race

    • Get all the girls together on a smooth area, like hardwood or linoleum flooring, and give them each a cotton ball and a straw. Line them up side by side and have them race their cotton balls by blowing on them through their straws.

You can set a one- or two-minute time limit to prevent the game from going on too long if you have a large group of girls. You can also have them race relay style by having one girl blow the cotton ball to a certain point and have the next girl in line take over.

    Pinata Scavenger Hunt

    • Divide the girls into two teams and set up two pinatas with scavenger hunt lists inside. Let the girls take turns hitting the pinata until it releases the list, then time them as they go off to find the items. Have a bag of candy waiting at the end of the scavenger hunt for each team so that everyone feels like a winner.

    Pass the Ball

    • Have the girls stand in a circle and give one a Nerf or other soft ball that fits under her chin. She must pass it to the girl next to her without using her hands, and that girl must do the same. This goes on until the ball makes it all the way around. Once the game is finished you can have the girls play hot potato with the same ball.
