When was the first arcade game made?

The first arcade game is generally considered to be "Tennis for Two", created by William Higinbotham in 1958.

While not commercially available, it was a groundbreaking interactive game played on an oscilloscope and demonstrated at Brookhaven National Laboratory.

While "Tennis for Two" paved the way, the first commercially successful arcade game is generally considered to be "Computer Space", released in 1962.
