Objective:
The goal of 10,000 is to be the first player to reach 10,000 points.
Materials:
* 6 standard six-sided dice
Gameplay:
1. Starting the Game: Each player takes turns rolling the dice.
2. First Roll: On your first roll, you have to score at least 300 points to keep your score.
3. Scoring Combinations:
* Ones: 100 points each
* Fives: 50 points each
* Three of a Kind: 100 points per die (e.g., three 4s = 400 points)
* Four of a Kind: 200 points per die
* Five of a Kind: 500 points per die
* Six of a Kind: 1000 points per die
* Straight (1-6): 1500 points
* Three Pairs: 1500 points
4. Keeping Points: After each roll, you can choose to:
* Stop: Your score for that round is added to your total score.
* Continue: You can choose to re-roll any of the dice that formed scoring combinations (except if you rolled all six dice and they all scored). The dice that didn't score are set aside.
5. Farkle: If you roll all six dice and none of them form a scoring combination, you "farkle" and lose all points earned that round. Your turn ends.
6. Bank Your Points: If you choose to stop rolling, your points are added to your total. Your turn is over.
7. Next Player: The next player takes their turn.
8. Reaching 10,000: The first player to reach 10,000 points wins.
Variations:
* Hot Dice: Some versions allow you to "hot dice" if you score at least 1500 points in a round. This gives you the option to continue rolling with your accumulated score, aiming for even higher points.
* Double Farkle: Some versions have a "double farkle" rule where you lose all your points for the game if you farkle twice in a row.
Tips:
* Risk vs. Reward: Decide how much risk you're willing to take. Rolling again could result in a higher score, but it also carries the risk of a farkle.
* Strategic Rolling: Consider which dice to re-roll to maximize your chances of scoring.
* Watch the Other Players: Pay attention to the other players' scores and strategies.
