What You Need:
* A deck of playing cards: Standard 52-card deck
* Players: 2 or more players
Objective:
The goal of Bonkers is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards.
Gameplay:
1. Dealing: Shuffle the deck and deal 7 cards to each player. The remaining cards form a draw pile in the center of the table.
2. Starting Player: The player to the left of the dealer starts the game by playing a card.
3. Matching Cards: Players must play a card that matches the previous card played in either rank or suit. For example:
* If the previous card was a 7 of Hearts, you could play any 7 or any Heart.
4. Going Bonkers: If a player has a card that matches the previous card, they must play it. If they don't have a match, they must draw a card from the draw pile.
5. Drawing Cards: If you draw a matching card, you can play it immediately. If you don't, you keep the card and continue playing.
6. Wild Cards:
* Jokers: Jokers can be played on any card and can be used to change the suit. For example, if the previous card was a 4 of Clubs, you could play a Joker and declare it to be a 4 of Spades.
* Aces: Aces can be played on any card and are wild. They can be used to change the suit or rank.
7. Winning: The first player to get rid of all their cards shouts "Bonkers!" and wins the game.
Variations and Rules:
* The Bonkers Rule: If a player is unable to play a card, they can call "Bonkers!" and make everyone else draw two cards. This is a risky move, as you might also be forced to draw cards depending on the card played next.
* "7" Rule: Some players implement a "7" rule, where if a "7" is played, the next player must draw two cards.
* Penalty Cards: In some variations, players can play a card that forces other players to draw a card or skip their turn.
Tips:
* Pay attention to the cards played: Keep track of the cards that have been played to maximize your chances of having a match.
* Use your wild cards wisely: Don't be afraid to play a wild card to get rid of a difficult card.
* Don't be afraid to go "Bonkers!": Calling "Bonkers!" can be a risky move, but it can also help you catch up if you're behind.
Have fun and enjoy the game!
