How to Get a Flying Saucer to Work in Astro

Astro Mania is an iPhone app that has you fighting against waves of flying saucer attacks. To work one of the flying saucers that has autonomous control into a position where you can blow it up before it does the same to you, employ a series of maneuvers using the game controls. You will need to take the speed of the saucer into account before firing, while at the same time ensuring that your weapon is not destroyed by the attacker. You will need both fast reflexes and the ability to look at everything going on without losing sight of the flying saucer that you must get.

Instructions

  Press the ̶0;Sleep/Wake̶1; button at the upper right corner of your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. Swipe the slider on the screen to the right. Tap the ̶0;App store̶1; icon on the screen. Tap ̶0;Search̶1; at the bottom of the screen. Enter ̶0;Astro Mania̶1; in the upper right corner of the screen with the virtual keyboard. Press the ̶0;Search̶1; key on the keyboard.

  Tap ̶0;Astro Mania̶1; on the screen when it appears. Tap the payment button. Tap the ̶0;Buy App̶1; button that replaces the payment button. Enter your password into the ̶0;Password̶1; text field on the pop-up window when it appears. Let the icon of ̶0;Astro Mania̶1; appear on the screen next to other app icons. Do nothing until the download bar at the bottom of the ̶0;Astro Mania̶1; icon has filled in from left to right.

  Tap the ̶0;Astro Mania̶1; app to launch it. Hold the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad horizontally. Tap the ̶0;Option̶1; button at the bottom of the screen. Move the ̶0;Difficulty̶1; slider to the left until it is even with ̶0;Medium̶1; to give you a challenge while letting you get used to the game. Tap the ̶0;Player̶1; button and tap ̶0;1 Player.̶1; Tap ̶0;Exit.̶1;

  Tap the ̶0;Start Game̶1; button. Let the first wave of flying saucers that are entering the screen from the right side approach the middle of the screen. Tilt the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad to the right to move your firing base at the bottom of the screen toward the right. Tap the ̶0;Fire̶1; button at the bottom right of the screen to shoot laser blasts up at the saucers.

  Tilt the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad to the left once the firing base has reached the right side. Continue tapping the ̶0;Fire̶1; button to shoot laser blasts up at the screen. Vary the movement of the firing base from left to right as you press the ̶0;Fire̶1; button to destroy all of the flying saucers on the screen. Tilt the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad to avoid being hit by the bombs dropped by the flying saucers.

  Tilt the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad to move your firing base to the middle of the screen. Tilt the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad left or right to avoid being beneath the flying saucer that is dropping bombs down the screen as it descends. Tilt the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad to position it beneath the saucer immediately after one of its bombs disappears at the bottom of the screen. Tap the ̶0;Fire̶1; button repeatedly to rapid-shoot laser blasts at the saucer and get it before it can change direction. Watch the points get added to your score for the level once the saucer explodes.
