How to Get Past the Rocks in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Fire Temple

The Fire Temple in ̶0;The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time̶1; lies inside an active volcano called Death Mountain. Home to the Gorons, Death Mountain is usually a peaceful place, but the events of ̶0;Ocarina of Time̶1; have turned it into a volatile environment filled with monsters and spewing lava. Your path through the volcano is blocked by several large rocks. Some of these rocks are breakable with bombs, but to destroy the other ones, you'll need an additional item to which you have not yet had access.

Goron Tunic
Hookshot
Bombs
Megaton Hammer

Instructions

- 1
  Navigate through Death Mountain Crater with your Hookshot. You must equip the Goron Tunic in order to survive the crater̵7;s great heat.

  Place bombs next to the small rocks that block your path. When the bombs explode, so will the rocks.

  Test each rock with a bomb. Bombs break most of the rocks, but the larger rocks may not explode.
- 4
  Complete the Fire Temple to earn the Megaton Hammer. You can access the Fire Temple by entering the secret passage in Darunia̵7;s room at the base of Goron City.
- 5
  Smash the large rocks with the Megaton hammer to fully explore Death Mountain Crater.
