Fairy Bow in the Forest Temple
As Link explores the Forest Temple, he will come upon a room with a hole in the floor and a Stalfos that is able to walk over the hole in the floor. Do not step in the hole or you will fall to your death. When the Stalfos is defeated, the hole will be plugged and you will be forced to fight two more Stalfos. These Stalfos can resurrect one another, so kill them at the same time or in quick succession to win. You will be awarded the Fairy Boy.
How to Use the Bow and Arrow
To use the Bow and Arrow, you must first equip it to one of your "C" buttons. Press the corresponding "C" button to pull out your bow and string it with an arrow. Use the joystick to aim your arrow at a target or use the trigger button to have Navi automatically target the closest enemy or target. Release the button to shoot the arrow. You can also use the bow and arrow on horseback. Press the related "C" button as you are riding, although you won't be able to steer your horse while you aim.
Arrows and Quivers
Each time you use your Fairy Bow, you deplete your stock of arrows. Additional arrows can be bought in stores or appear automatically when you defeat foes, destroy pots and barrels, or cut down grass. Link can only hold 30 arrows in his quiver at first, but bigger quivers can be obtained in different ways. Obtain the Big Quiver, which holds 40 arrows, as a prize for winning the archery game in Kakariko Village. The Biggest Quiver, which holds 50 arrows, is given as a prize for winning the horseback archery game in Gerudo Valley.
Magic Arrows
Throughout the game, Link will come into possession of magic arrows that have different elemental properties. Fire arrows do fire damage and can light torches from a distance. Obtain fire arrows by shooting the sun at dawn on Lake Hylia after beating the Water Temple. Ice arrows are capable of freezing foes and putting out flames. Obtain ice arrows as a prize for completing the training program in Gerudo Valley. Light arrows give off a magical glow and are required to defeat Ganon. Princess Zelda will give you light arrows in the Temple of Time when you bring her the medallions from every temple.
