How to Perform Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1

"Mortal Kombat" was released in arcades in 1992, and for the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis in 1993. The first game in the "Mortal Kombat" franchise, the game was heavily criticized upon its release for its use of blood and gore. At the end of the match, the winning player performs a fatality on his defeated opponent - often involving such gruesome acts as dismemberment or being burned alive. "Mortal Kombat" features seven fighters, each with one fatality that must be performed with a specific button combination.

Instructions

    • 1

Defeat your opponent in two rounds of combat. On the second round, when their health bar is empty, they will stand in one position dazed and the words "Finish Him!" will appear on screen.

    • 2

Move to the appropriate distance to perform the fatality. For example, for Scorpion's fatality, you will need to be within the distance of a leg sweep to your opponent. The distance for each fatality is different for each character.

    • 3

Press the button combination associated with the fatality. For example, hold "Block" and press "Up" twice if you are playing as Scorpion. If the fatality is entered correctly, the sky will darken and the move will be performed. The word "Fatality" will be shown on the screen after.
