How to Hook an Original Nintendo to a TV

The original Nintendo Entertainment System, or NES, set the stage for modern Nintendo gaming systems like the Wii, the DS and the DSi. If you're looking forward to enjoying classic video games, the original Nintendo is still compatible with modern television sets. Hook up an original Nintendo to any TV with a cable connector to start enjoying the classic gaming console yet again.

Instructions

      Remove the existing cable line from cable connector on the back of the TV.

      Connect the short, thick cord of the Nintendo RF switch to the TV's cable connector.

      Reconnect the existing cable you removed from the TV earlier to the silver connector labeled "ANT" on the RF switch.

      Connect the cabled labeled "Control Deck" on the RF Switch to the "RF Out" connector on back of the Nintendo.

      Locate the "3/4" switch on the back of the Nintendo. Switch it so it matches the channel you will use on the TV.

      Plug a game controller into a controller port on the front panel of the Nintendo.

      Plug the AC adapter into the AC port on the back panel of the gaming console. Insert the other end of the AC cord into a wall outlet.

      Press the "Power" button on the Nintendo. Turn on the TV and set it to channel three or four, depending on what channel you set the Nintendo's "3/4" switch.
