How to Unlock the Super Smash Bros. Characters

"Super Smash Brothers" for the Nintendo 64 combines iconic characters from Nintendo's flagship games into one game. Some of the regular characters are Mario from "Super Mario Brothers," Link from "Legend of Zelda" and Samus Aran from "Metroid." Initially, there are eight characters to choose from. However, there are four additional characters that are unlockable once you meet special requirements.

Instructions

- 1
  Complete the "Bonus 1 Practice" mini-game with all eight default characters to unlock Luigi. This game can be found in the main menu. Utilize each character's special moves to destroy all of the targets before the time limit runs out.

  Complete the single player story mode to fight Jigglypuff. Defeat it in combat and Jigglypuff will be unlocked as a playable character.

  Complete the single player story mode in under 20 minutes without using a continue. Defeat Captain Falcon once he challenges you at the end of story mode to unlock him as a playable character.

  Set the single player difficulty to normal and the lives to three. Complete story mode without using a continue. Defeat Ness when he challenges you at the end of story mode to unlock him as a usable character.
