How to Connect SNES to a TV

While contemporary consoles such as the PS3 or the Xbox 360 are great for realistic game play, sometimes you just want to go back to basics. However, unlike the straightforward connections of modern day consoles, retro consoles such as SNES require a bit more forethought.

Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect your home cable service's coaxial cable from the cable port on the back of the television.

    • 2

Connect the RF Switch's coaxial cable to the television's cable port. The end connector on this RF switch cord will look exactly like the connector you just removed from the television.

    • 3

Reconnect your home cable line to the plug located on the back of the RF Switch box.

    • 4

Connect the remaining cord--a thinner cord extending from the side of the RF switch's box--to the RF out port on the back of the SNES.

    • 5

Switch the channel switch on the back of the SNES console to channel 3 or 4. This will be dependent on your preferences and what works best for your television.

    • 6

Turn on your television and turn to the channel you indicated on the RF channel switch.

    • 7

      Power on your SNES.
