Instructions
Select where you would like the active character to move. The game automatically determines the order in which characters act based on their "Speed" statistic. When one of the characters you control is ready to act, you will usually first want to move him or her into range to attack an enemy or help an ally. The character can move to any of the surrounding squares highlighted blue. Move the cursor to a highlighted square and press the "A" button to send the unit there.
Choose the character's action. Use the directional buttons to select whether you would like the unit to attack or use one of its skills. Once you have selected an action, the game will display the squares that are in range for that action by highlighting them. Choose a highlighted square and press "A" to carry out the action. If you target a panel that includes another unit, a window displays that unit's current status as well as the probability of the action's success.
Choose which way the active unit will face after completing the action. While seemingly inconsequential, this final step actually helps determine the chance of enemy units' attacks on your character. Most attacks are most likely to be successful if they come from behind a unit and least likely if they come head-on. Use the directional buttons to choose a direction then press "A" to confirm. This will end the character's turn and the game will move on to the next character.
