How to Get Aerodactyl in Crystal

Aerodactyl, a Fossil Pokemon that combines Flying Type and Rock Type abilities, can be found in multiple games in the "Pokemon" series, including "Pokemon Crystal." Trading Pokemon between friends is a common game element in the "Pokemon" franchise; however, to obtain Aerodactyl you must conduct a trade with another character in the game. The little girl that owns Aerodactyl will not trade with you unless you have a Pokemon that she wants -- and the only Pokemon that she wants is a Chansey.

Instructions

  Travel to Route 14, located east of Fuchsia City.

  Talk to the girl in the bushes in the northwest part of the map. She will ask you for a Chansey in exchange for her Aerodactyl.

  Walk around in the grass in Route 14 until you have a random encounter with a Chansey, which are common in the area.

  Battle the Chansey to weaken it using your highest level Pokemon. Chansey is weak against Fighting Type attacks. Continue to attack Chansey until you think it is weak enough to capture in a Pokeball.

  Use a Pokeball from your item menu to catch the Chansey. If the Pokeball does not work, weaken Chansey some more and try again until you capture it.

  Talk to the girl again to trade the newly captured Chansey for Aerodactyl.
