The Pokemon Slowbro is one of the original 150 Pokemon. In the original "Pokemon Red" and "Blue" games, Slowbro could not evolve, but as more games came out the Slowbro gained the ability to evolve into Slowking. This evolution path came about as the Pokemon series introduced the held item system, which lets Pokemon hold certain items to improve their powers or give them special abilities. In Slowbro's case, holding a King's Rock can help the monster reach its final evolutionary form.

Catch a Slowbro or evolve a Slowpoke by training one to level 37.

Find a King's Rock and let your Slowbro hold the item. You can find a King's Rock on wild Poliwhirls, which are found on Routes 225, 227 and 228 when fishing with a Good Rod or better.

Using the inter-game trading system, trade a Slowbro carrying a King's Rock to another "Pokemon Pearl" game. After the trade goes through, Slowbro will evolve into Slowking.
