How to Catch Mew in Pokemon LeafGreen

Mew, a rare and legendary Pokemon, can only be obtained by a player that attends a Nintendo Event and gets an in-game item from the event coordinators. The Pokemon awarded at each event are not disclosed by Nintendo in advance, but Mew has been one of the giveaways at least once a year since 2005. Mew can only be captured in "Pokemon Emerald," but can then be traded to other games like "Pokemon LeafGreen."

Instructions

- 1
  Take a "Pokemon Emerald" and Game Boy Advance (GBA) to a Nintendo Pokemon Event in your area and obtain the "Old Sea Map." Nintendo Events are held throughout the United States at various retailers (such as Toys 'R Us).

  Go to Slateport City and take the ferry to Faraway Island.

  Enter the forest on Faraway Island and chase Mew until you can corner him.

  Fight and catch Mew. Mew is level 30, so fight him using Pokemon around that level.

  Go to the nearest Pokemon Center in "Pokemon Emerald" and "Pokemon LeafGreen."

  Connect a GBA Link cable and talk to the woman in the trading area to connect to another GBA.

  Select a Pokemon to trade for Mew and trade Mew over to your copy of "Pokemon LeafGreen."
