How to Delete an HM Move in Pokemon Diamond

Hidden machines (HMs) in "Pokemon Diamond" are items that can teach your Pokemon special moves. HM moves, unlike other moves, can be taught multiple times to multiple Pokemon and cannot be forgotten by any conventional means. This is meant to be an advantage as Pokemon can sometimes lose special moves they learned when they are knocked out during battle. You may want to delete an HM move, however, if you accidentally gave the wrong Pokemon the HM move or need space for a different special attack.

Instructions

- 1
  Fly to the Pokemon Center in Canalave City using one of your Pokemon that have the Fly ability. Walk there using your map as a guide if you do not yet have this ability.

  Walk through the city and locate the house south of the Canalave City Pokemon Center.

  Talk to the man inside the house. He will offer to help your Pokemon forget a move.

  Select the Pokemon with the HM move you would like to delete. Select the HM move and confirm its deletion.

  Repeat this process as necessary until you have deleted all the HM moves you need to delete.
