How to Catch Snorunt in Pokemon Emerald for GBA

In "Pokemon Emerald," Snorunt is a small, round Ice-type Pokemon that wears a yellow-orange triangular cloak. Snorunt is able to learn powerful Ice-type moves such as Ice Beam and Blizzard. A male Snorunt can evolve into a Glalie, an Ice-type Pokemon, at level 42. If a female Snorunt is exposed to a Dawn Stone's radiation, it can evolve into a Ice- and Ghost-type Pokemon, Frosslass. Snorunt is a relatively rare Pokemon that can only be found in the Shoal Cave Ice Room at low tide between the hours of 3PM to 9PM and 3AM to 9AM.

Instructions

  Travel to Mossdeep City, located to the east of Sootopolis City. Approach the northern coast and press "Start" to bring up the in-game menu. Select "Pokemon" and press "A" to choose a Pokemon with the "Surf" ability.

  Surf northwest until you reach a large mountain called Shoal Cave. Enter Shoal Cave through the entrance on the left side of the mountain.

  Proceed down the stairs and enter the middle cave opening. Head north, go up the stairs and turn right. Go down the stairs and climb down the ladder.

  Climb off the ladder and walk south down the stairs. Head west past the long bridge and continue south.

  Cross the bridge to the east and head north. Climb down the ladder to your left.

  Head east until you reach the boulder blocking your path. Press "Start" to bring up the in-game menu and select a Pokemon with the "Strength" ability. Push the boulder east to clear your path.

  Walk south and climb down the ladder to your right to enter the Shoal Cave Ice Room.

  Walk on the unfrozen tiles in the Ice Room to encounter wild Pokemon, such as Zubat, Golbat, Spheal and Snorunt. If you encounter a Pokemon that is not Snorunt, you can either defeat it to gain experience or run away from battle. Continue walking around until you encounter a Snorunt.

  Engage Snorunt in battle and lower its hit points into the critical red zone. Throw a Poke Ball at it to capture it. If it breaks free, continue throwing Poke Balls until it is captured.
