How to Grow Berries for Pokemon Sapphire

In the game "Pokemon Sapphire," berries are useful because they help restore HP points during battles. You are able to plant and grow berries in the game, though it is best to wait until after you have beaten the Elite Four because you need to spend a lot of time with the berries for them to grow. Berries take up to 96 hours to mature to the harvesting stage, though there are ways to make them grow faster and produce a larger yield.

Instructions

    • 1

Pick a patch of soft, loamy soil in an area where you visit frequently. This way you can get to your berries quickly when they need to be watered. Got to the flower shop in Floaroma Town to acquire a Sprayduck to be able to water your berries.

Plant the berries in the patch of soil that you chose.

Travel to Route 208 and purchase a bag of Growth Mulch, a plant fertilizer, from the wife of the Berry Master. While standing in front of your patch of berries, click on the bag of Growth Mulch from your inventory and spread it out over the soil. The Growth Mulch will decrease the amount of time your berries take to grow by 25 percent.

Check your berries every so often to see if they need to be watered. The more often they are watered the quicker they will grow and the number of berries yielded will increase. There are three stages of wetness associated with the berries; dark brown soil perfect for planting, medium brown soil that is starting to dry out and light brown soil that is dry and desperately needs water. For the best yield, keep the soil at the dark brown color. They should be watered every few hours during the day and right before you go to bed at night.

Harvest the berries as soon as they are ready. Plant more berries at this time if desired.
