How to Get Lugia in the Silver Version on the GBC

Lugia is a legendary Pokemon available in the Game Boy Color game "Pokemon Silver Version." It is both a flying and psychic Pokemon, and only one is available in the game. This Pokemon is located in the Whirl Islands area. You must travel between the bottom-left, bottom-right, top-right and top-left islands in order to find and capture Lugia. You will use your Whirlpool HM, the item from your inventory that allows passage through whirlpools, throughout the process.

Instructions

Bottom-Left, Bottom-Right Islands

  Go to the bottom-left island, and go to the whirlpool at the top of the island.

  Use the Whirlpool HM to get down to the entrance. Enter the island.

  Move north, and take the ladder down.

  Go toward the east, and take the path until you come to an escape rope.

  Follow your path back to where you started after seeing the dead end.

  Surf to the east to acquire the Guard Spec. item.

  Move down the ladder to the opposite side of the dead end. Move to the east.

  Follow the wall closely toward the south.

  Take the stairs up to the ledge, and acquire the Calcium item.

  Take the nearby ladder up.

  Move down, and exit the area to the exterior of the bottom-right island.
Top-Left Island

  Travel to the top-left island. Enter using the Whirlpool HM.

  Move north and down the ladder.

  Move left, and take the steps down.

  Move to the east, and go up the stairs.

  Move south on the ledge and down the ladder.

  Grab the items in this area, and go back up to the previous level.

  Move back to the entrance, and go to the right.

  Jump down to the right area.

  Keep going right, and go up the stairs.

  Follow the ledge's path down, and take any items before jumping off.

  Hop off the right group of ledges. Take the ladder down.

  Move down the steps in this area.

  Go back to the previous floor, and jump off the left ledge.

  Jump down off this south ledge.
Top-Right Island
- 26
  Travel to the top-right island. Use the Whirlpool HM to enter at the bottom right of this island.

  Move north, and leap off of the right ledge.

  Leap off the top ledge of this area, and go down the ladder on the path.

  Take the south and west paths. Move south again, and go down the ladder.

  Grab the item, and surf to the southern area.

  Go down the waterfall and then west.

  Enter the cave. Move north and go across the water.

  Find and battle Lugia in this area, and use a Pokeball to capture it.
