How to Build a Game Cartridge for Game Boy

Game Boys were popular handheld gaming consoles manufactured by Nintendo in the 90s. These machines used game cartridges like many modern handheld consoles. If you have come across a disassembled game cartridge for a Game Boy and are interested in a little project you can re-build the cartridge.

Things You'll Need

Small Phillips screwdriver
Hobby glue

Instructions

  Locate the back half of the plastic game cartridge. This will be the half with the screw holes inside.

  Fit the green game circuit board in the back half of the cartridge, making sure the screw holes in the board line up with the holes in the board. The gold connector teeth on the board should be turned toward the bottom of the cartridge.

  Fit the screws in each hole on the corners of the board and screw them in.

  Run hobby glue along the outer edges of the front half of the cartridge and fit the front half over the bottom half so that all sides are flush. Wait for the glue to dry to manufacturer's specifications and the game cartridge is built.
