How to Solve Problems on the Pokemon LeafGreen Version

The game "Pokemon LeafGreen," developed for the Game Boy Advance, allows you to play as a Pokemon Trainer. You begin with a starter Pokemon and continue on your quest catching Pokemon and defeating other Trainers and Gym Badges. If you get stuck during your quest and cannot figure out where to go or what to do next, there are several steps you can take.

  Look around the town or route you are currently in; see whether there are any caves or passages you can get to. Some obstacles, such as stones or bodies of water, require a Hidden Machine to overcome. If you have not obtained the HM and the corresponding Gym Badge that allows you to use the move, go back and get them in order to progress in the game.

  Talk to other people in the game; go into houses and talk to residents and speak with people on the street. Often, people in the game will give you helpful hints about what to do next in the game.

  Look through your items list in your bag; go to the Key Items section and read about the items for clues about how and where to use them.

  Battle Pokemon Trainers and wild Pokemon to level them up and give them experience points; this can help if you are stuck on a difficult Gym Leader or Rival battle. The stronger your Pokemon become, the greater your chances of defeating your opponents.

  Study up on the various Pokemon types; certain types are more effective against other types in battle. For example, Water types are super effective against Fire types and Rock Types, but are weak against Grass and Electric types. Knowing what types of Pokemon you have and what types they are effective against will help you in your quest.
