How to Get a Metal Jacket in Pokemon Silver

One of the biggest goals for players of "Pokemon Silver" is to be the best and most powerful pokemon trainer. This is frequently interpreted as having max level pokemon but it can also mean catching and trading for every pokemon in the game. Sometimes, though, pokemon must be evolved because they cannot be caught or traded for. A metal jacket is necessary because it must be used to evolve the pokemon Onix to Steelix.

     Defeat all eight gym trainers in Johto and speak with Professor Elm in New Bark Town. He will give you the S.S. Aqua ticket.

     Take the ticket to Olivine city. Go to the house on the shore, speak to the man inside and he will let you on the boat.

     Find and speak to the man on the boat who wants you to find his granddaughter.

   • 4

     Retrieve the man's granddaughter from the captain's cabin and he will give you the metal jacket.
