Wario Ware Twisted
Wario Ware Twisted is another entry in the Wario series, but this game is unique because of a gyro sensor built into the cartridge. Apart from the excellent puzzles and game elements that are a part of the Wario staple, the gyro sensor makes it great for the Game Boy Advance because it physically involves gamers by requiring them to rotate and move to solve certain levels.
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past With Four Swords
A Link to the Past was originally a game for the Super Nintendo console, but this is one of Link's greatest adventures rescuing Zelda, and it translates into one of the best Game Boy Advance games. An original feature of the game that is unique to the GBA is the multiplayer-only game called Four Swords.
Metroid: Zero Mission
Metroid: Zero Mission is the second game of the Metroid series made for the Game Boy Advance. It was lauded as a remake of the original Nintendo Entertainment System game, but it was far more than just that, with plenty of fresh and exciting content.
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
The Castlevania series was very popular when it began on the original Nintendo Entertainment System, so there is no reason it would be any different on the Game Boy Advance. Aria of Sorrow is the third and final Castlevania game for the GBA, and in addition to continuing the story, it features a number of additional modes of play that are new to the series.
Final Fantasy VI
It is hard to make a list of the best games and not include a Final Fantasy title. Final Fantasy VI may just be a GBA translation of the original NES game, but there is nothing wrong with that, especially with new game play features and enhanced visuals and soundtrack.
Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island
Originally Super Mario Land 2 for the Super Nintendo system, Yoshi's Island is yet another great game revisited for the Game Boy Advance. Although there are no drastic changes to the game play, an added bonus is the unlockable six new levels known as the Secret Levels, making for an awesome gaming experience in the palm of your hands.
Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire
Like with the Final Fantasy series, it is very difficult to construct a top games list without including a Pokemon title. Ruby and Sapphire are a part of the third generation of Pokemon games. Although there is not too much deviation from the standard Pokemon game play, which many have complained is much too geared toward kids, there is no doubt that you will spend hours and hours enjoying this game.
Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario Advance 4 is a re-release of Super Mario Bros. 3 for the original Nintendo. That's all that needs to be said, given Mario Bros. 3 is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, video games ever created. However, there is plenty more that can be said, with several new level designs included with the package. For fans of the original game and the new generation of gamers alike, this one cannot be missed.
Advance Wars
Advance Wars is a very challenging strategy game. Very different from the typical platform games on the list, it is still one of the best games for the Game Boy Advance. It comes with an excellent single-player campaign, plus a four-player multiplayer mode. A sequel has been released, and although it is also fun to play, the original had already cemented itself as a classic to be reckoned with.
Mario Golf
A golf game may not grab you as one of the best video games, especially for a handheld device, but Mario Golf is actually that. It could also be one of the greatest golfing video games ever produced. Borrowing elements from the GameCube game of the same name, the GBA version even holds its own as a 2D game.
