How to Get Every Character, Even Toad in Super Smash Brothers: Melee

"Super Smash Brothers Melee" is a fighting game for the Nintendo GameCube. Players control a wide assortment of players from the Nintendo gaming world including Mario, Kirby and Starfox. There are several characters that you can unlock to expand your roster, including the character "Toad." Unlocking each of these characters requires performing a specific act that is specific to each character. These acts vary in difficulty and in requirement, such as beating the game in a specific manner.

Instructions

  Beat the game with any character, in any difficulty setting to unlock Jigglypuff as a playable character.

  Finish the game as Mario in "classic mode" to unlock Dr. Mario. Play 100 "Versus Mode" matches and beat Dr. Mario at the end as an alternative way to unlock him as a playable character.

  Successfully finish the 100-man melee without dying to unlock Falco Lombardi.

  Win "Event Mode 29" to unlock Ganondorf as a playable character.

  Beat "Adventure" mode twice on any difficulty to face Luigi as a boss. Defeat him to unlock him as a playable character.

  Play "Versus Mode" more than 200 times to unlock Picachu. Unlock Luigi and Falco and beat "Event 37" as an alternative way to unlock Picachu.

  Play with at least 10 characters, either default or unlocked, in "1-player" mode to unlock Young Link from the "Majora's Mask" game.

  Finish 20 hours or play 700 times in "Versus Mode" to unlock the Mewtwo character.

  Play "Versus" mode over 400 times or use all the default characters at least once in "Versus" mode to unlock Marth.

  Start "Classic" mode as Marth and set your lives to two lives. Win without losing a life to unlock Roy.

  Complete "Classic" mode or "Break the Targets" mode with 24 characters to be challenged by Mr. Game and Watch. Defeat him to earn him as a playable character.

  Beat "Classic" mode with any character and shoot at all the credits; then hit the "Super Smash Brothers Melee" credit. Play "Adventure" mode with the character you beat "Classic" mode with and fight through the game without earning any "continues"; when done you can fight "Toad" at the end and earn him as a playable character.
