Using and Managing Data Using GameCube Memory Cards
Insert a GameCube Memory Card into one of the two Memory Card Slots in the front of the GameCube. The slots are rectangular in shape and are below the four circular controller sockets. With two individual slots, you can insert up to two separate Memory Cards at one time.
Turn on the GameCube console, making sure the disc tray is empty or the console lid is open so that the Main Menu will load. If a game is in the disc tray and the lid is closed, the game will load. You also can access the Main Menu while the console is powering up by pressing down the "A" button on the controller until the Main Menu appears.
Use the control stick on your controller to highlight "Memory Card" and select it by pressing the "A" button. This will take you to the Memory Card Screen.
Use the options on the Memory Card Screen to do three things: copy data, delete data or move data. Copying data can be done only when you have two Memory Cards inserted into the console. Highlight the file and select it by pressing down the "A" button. Highlight "Copy" and select it by pressing down the "A" button. Confirm your decision by pressing down the "A" button.
Deleting data is similar but only requires one card. Highlight the file and select it by pressing down the "A" button. Highlight "Delete" and select it by pressing down the "A" button.
Move files by highlighting the file and selecting it by pressing down the "A" button. Highlight "Move" and select it by pressing down the "A" button.
When you're finished managing your files, exit out of the Memory Card Screen by opting to start a game or by turning off your GameCube.
