How to Reset Your Nintendo DSi by Plugging It Into a Computer

The Nintendo DSi Action Replay comes with software that allows you to transfer cheat codes from the computer. If the DSi Action Replay displays an "ARLE System Error" message or does not load the cheat codes, you will need to reset the device. You can perform the reset from your computer using the code manager software.

Instructions

  Open the DSi Action Replay Code Manager software on your computer. The software will display "Waiting for Action Replay Card" in the left pane.

  Remove the DSi Action Replay from the handheld and plug it into the computer using the USB cable that came with the device.

  Wait for the "Waiting for Action Replay Card" message to disappear.

  Click the colored circles icon in the top-left corner of the window.

  Select "About Action Replay DSi Code Manager" and choose "Reset Hardware." The screen will display a confirmation message. Click "Yes" to confirm.

  Disconnect and reconnect your DSi Action Replay when prompted, then click "OK."

  Drag the codes back to the Action Replay by dragging and dropping them from the "Subscription" box to the memory card pane. Click "Commit Changes" and click "Yes" to confirm.
