How Do You Connect the PokeWalker to the Game Pokemon SoulSilver?

"Pokemon SoulSilver" comes with a device called the PokeWalker, which can synchronize with the game through infrared signals when the cartridge is in a Nintendo DS. While using a PokeWalker, players can store up to three Pokemon in the device; the Pokemon then gain experience points according to how many steps its steward takes. Taking more steps also adjusts the chances of encountering rarer Pokemon throughout your travels in the game.

     Insert "Pokemon SoulSilver" into your Nintendo DS and power on the device. The PokeWalker sends signals to a receiver that is directly inside the game cartridge, so it needs to use the DS's battery to connect.

     Press the middle button of the PokeWalker to power it on.

     Scroll down on the title menu of "Pokemon SoulSilver" and select "Connect to PokeWalker." This option appears only when a PokeWalker is powered on in the vicinity.
