How to Get Rid of Smoke in Tetris Party for the Nintendo DS

Tetris Online's 2010 release, "Tetris Party Deluxe," for the Nintendo DS brings a contemporary, multi-player twist to the 1984 console classic, "Tetris." In "Tetris Party," players compete in puzzle-solving battles with friends, using an arsenal of obstructive weapons and devices to hinder their opponents' gameplay. Deploying a smoke bomb allows a player to fill an opponent's screen with smoke, temporarily obscuring his view. Fortunately, players can significantly diminish the duration of the smoke bomb's effects on their own consoles with the Nintendo DS's microphone feature.

Instructions

    • 1

Begin a multi-player "Tetris Party Deluxe" battle and wait for your opponent to deploy a smoke bomb, filling your game window with smoke.

    • 2

Lift your Nintendo DS console so that the device is positioned directly in front of your face, with the top screen at approximately eye level.

    • 3

Locate the microphone on your Nintendo DS console. First-generation Nintendo DS models have a small microphone hole directly below the lower left corner of the device's touch screen. The microphone on later DSLite and DSi models is located in the center of the device's hinge between the two screens while the microphone on the 3DS model is located in the lower right corner of the bottom touch screen.

    • 4

Blow a gentle, yet continuous, stream of air into the microphone of your Nintendo DS. When the microphone registers the air, the smoke will begin to clear from your screen. Continue blowing into the microphone until all of the smoke has dissipated. Return the device to its normal position and resume play immediately.
