Instructions
Open a new file on Flipnote Studio once you have drawn a rough draft storyboard on paper. Drawing a rough draft first gives you an idea of what you need to animate.
Draw the first frame of your animation using the stylus. Tap the various drawing tools with your stylus to change the brush type, line color or to fill in an area with the bucket tools. Take a few moments to familiarize yourself with all of the drawing tools and select the best tools for your animation.
Press the "Right" button on the directional pad to move to the next frame. The image from the previous frame will appear underneath the new frame, allowing you to best match the new frame to the previous one.
Press "Up" on the control pad to preview your animation thus far. Press "Down" to stop the preview. Tap the timeline button with your stylus if you need to add, copy, move or delete frames from your animation to get it to look right or adjust the frame rate.
Tap the sound button with the stylus to open the audio studio. Tap the record button to record sound effects and voice acting directly in sync with the animation as it loops.
Save your animation and connect to the Flipnote Hatena from the main menu to share your movie with the world. You will need to set up an account with Nintendo.com to use the Hatena.
