How to Get Eggs in Platinum

You can breed Pokemon in "Pokemon Platinum." Breeding allows you to customize a Pokemon and pass on statistics so that it will increase at a faster rate, which will result in a stronger Pokemon when fully trained. You can breed a male with a female if they are in the same "Egg Group," which means they are similar enough to breed successfully. Alternatively, you can use one Pokemon and a Pokemon named Ditto. Ditto is a transforming Pokemon that can breed with any other Pokemon except for the Legendaries. The Poketch, your main gadget for the game, allows you to check for eggs in the Daycare, so you will know for sure when to return.

Instructions

  Choose which Pokemon you wish to get an egg from and place it in your party.

  Travel to Solaceon Town and enter the Pokemon Daycare.

  Speak with the woman at the counter and leave two of your Pokemon there (either a compatible male and female Pokemon or Ditto and another Pokemon).

  Leave the Daycare center and travel. You can either continue on your journey or; find a somewhat long stretch of road and ride/run back and forth, which is a faster way to get an egg.

  Select the Daycare Checker on the Poketch and tap it as you run/bike. When you see an egg appear on the screen, return to the Daycare Center.

  Check that you have a free slot in your party, then speak to the man outside of the Daycare Center to get your egg.
