How to Figure out Your Trainer ID in Pokemon SoulSilver

In "Pokémon SoulSilver Version," your character is randomly assigned a unique five-digit identification number when you start a new game. That number is known as your Trainer ID and it can't be changed throughout the course of the game. While generally insignificant in the game's plot, Trainer IDs hold a number of uses, including telling the game which Pokémon were originally yours and determining whether or not you win the Goldenrod Lottery. Checking your Trainer ID is a simple process and requires just a few clicks through the menu.

     Open the menu by pressing "X." Unlike in other Pokémon games, the menu appears on the Nintendo DS touchscreen instead of the top screen. You can use either the stylus or the system's buttons to navigate the menu.

     Select the Trainer Card option on the menu's top right. The icon will be labeled with your character's name.

     Check your Trainer ID. The Trainer Card appears on both of the system's screens; look at the bottom screen. Your ID number is located on the top left next to your character's name.
