How to Get a Kyogre in Pearl

While "Pokemon Pearl" features many new Pokemon that Nintendo created for the game, there are many Pokemon from previous "Pokemon" games that you cannot catch in "Pearl," including the legendary Kyogre. However, if you have Kyogre on your copy of "Pokemon Sapphire" or "Emerald," you can transfer him to your saved game on "Pearl."

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the copy of "Pokemon Sapphire" or "Emerald" into the Game Boy Advance slot on your Nintendo DS. Insert "Pokemon Pearl" into the normal slot. Turn the system on and wait for the main title screen to appear.

    • 2

Scroll down, select the "Transfer" option and choose Kyogre from the list of Pokemon you own in "Sapphire" or "Emerald." You must also choose five other Pokemon to transfer with him; you can transfer Pokemon only in groups of six.

    • 3

Select the "Continue" option from the main screen to pick up your game from where you left off previously. Go to the Route 221 area of the map and continue until you reach the end. If you have completed the Sinnoh Pokedex and obtained the National Dex from Professor Oak, you will be able to enter the Pal Park.

    • 4

Enter the Pal Park and speak to the attendant. He will give you six Park Balls that you will use to catch Pokemon inside of the park. These balls work exactly like the Master Ball; they capture Pokemon instantly, so you don't need to fight the Pokemon.

    • 5

Go through the entrance to the park and move to the southeast until you see the large ocean area. Here you will run into your Kyogre swimming through the water. It may take a while for you to encounter him, but keep trying and you will eventually see him. Throw one of the Park Balls to recapture your Pokemon.
