How to Picture Chat on the DS

The Nintendo DS includes built-in wireless functions, allowing you to compete in online multiplayer matches. The system also includes a PictoChat application, which also utilizes the wireless capabilities of the device. Although you cannot use the program to chat with others worldwide, you can use it to wirelessly chat with others within a 65-foot radius. Use the PictoChat application to send text or picture messages to other Nintendo DS users.

Instructions

      Turn off the DS and remove all games from the DS or Advance slots.

      Turn the unit on and tap the screen to bypass the "Touch the Touch Screen to continue" notification.

      Touch the "PictoChat" icon. A list of chat rooms appear.

      Tap "Chat Room A." An on-screen keyboard and writing wall appear.

      Tap the on-screen keyboard to type a message. Tap "Send" to send the message. The message appears to everyone in the room.

      Tap the "Pen Tool" and tap a "Pen Thickness" icon to adjust the width of the drawing tool. Draw on the top portion of the screen to create a picture. Tap "Send" to send the message. The picture sends to everyone in the chat room.

      Erase portions of your drawing by tapping the "Eraser Tool," selecting a desired "Pen Thickness" and wiping the unwanted drawing with your stylus.

      Erase everything by pressing the "Clear Button."
