Four different versions of "Nintendogs" have been released for the Nintendo DS family of units, such as the Nintendo DS Lite and the Nintendo DSi. In each version, you adopt puppies and teach them new tricks and commands. However, each version of "Nintendogs" features only one save file. If you have purchased or been given a used copy, the previous owner's information, puppies and unlockables are still on the cart. To restart "Nintendogs" from the beginning, you must reset the data. The method to reset the data is the same on any version of the Nintendo DS, including the DSi, and is the same for all versions of "Nintendogs."

Launch "Nintendogs" from your Nintendo DSi's main menu.

Press and hold the "A," "B," "X," "Y," "L" and "R" buttons simultaneously as soon as the game begins loading.

Tap "Yes" when the "Are you sure you want to delete?" screen appears. All of the data is erased and "Nintendogs" is reset back to factory settings.
