Freezing is one of several negative status effects in "Pokemon SoulSilver." If your Pokemon is frozen, it will be unable to move until it thaws out. There is a 25 percent chance that your Pokemon will thaw out after every turn. If you are lucky, your Pokemon will thaw out after the first turn, but you can't count on that happening. Pokemon with the ability "Magma Armor" can't be frozen at all. Other Pokemon need to hold a certain berry to avoid a frosty fate, but that berry will only work once.

Press the "X" button to open your bag. Select the "Items" option.

Select the "Berries" section and select the Aspear Berry. If you do not have an Aspear Berry, give the juggler in Violet City a Yellow Shard. In return, the juggler will give you an Aspear Berry.

Attach the Aspear Berry to any Pokemon.
