How to Use Wi-Fi With a WPA Code for DSi

The Nintendo DSi is a later version model of the Game Boy's direct successor, the Nintendo DS. Like the previous versions, players can connect the device to the Internet via Wi-Fi connection. As with any Internet-enabled device, you can connect to a configuration encrypted with a WPA security key. By default, the Nintendo DSi is configured to assume your connection is encrypted with WEP, but you can change this setting during setup.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Nintendo DSi and tap the wrench icon on your screen.

    • 2

Tap "Internet," followed by "Connection Settings" and "Advanced Setup."

    • 3

      Tap "None" beside "Connection 4."

    • 4

Tap "Search for an Access Point." Wait for the Nintendo DSi to locate all nearby wireless signals.

    • 5

      Tap your nearby wireless signal.

    • 6

Type your WPA code and tap "OK."

    • 7

Tap "Save Settings," and then "Yes" to run a connection test. If the DSi says the test was successful, your Internet is properly configured. Otherwise, ensure you typed the code in correctly and followed the steps thoroughly.
