How to Catch a Banette in Pokemon Diamond

Banette is marionette type Pokemon that first appeared as the evolution of Shuppet in "Pokemon Ruby." With a high-level attack rating and the rare Frisk ability, Banette is a powerful ally to any Pokemon trainer. In "Pokemon Diamond" Banette can be found along Route 225 after the player obtains the National Pokedex. A nocturnal creature, Banette can only be captured between 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. with Ultra or Dusk Pokeballs.

Instructions

  Obtain the National Pokedex by completing the main gym badge quest.

  Fly to Route 225, the Survival Area, on the peninsula above the main Shinnoh region.

  Walk back and forth in the grassy areas along Route 225, Route 226 and Route 227 until you find a Banette. When the battle begins, do not attack with ghost or dark attacks, as they will knock Banette out.

  Attack Banette with low-impact moves that will slowly lower its health. Once its health is in the red, ready an Ultra or Dusk Pokeball.

  Toss the Pokeball at Banette. Banette is not easily caught and you will need to continue to throw Pokeballs until it is worn down.

  Save the game after Banette is captured.
