How to Get Djinns in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn

There are 72 djinn to collect in "Golden Sun: Dark Dawn" for the Nintendo DS. Djinn teach the player's character various new abilities and even change his job class. Often abilities learned from djinn are needed to face challenges later in the game. Djinn are obtained in a variety of ways, some are found in exploration, some by fighting in a certain area and some are granted automatically as the story progresses. There are many djinn, each with different requirements, but there are general strategies that can be used to obtain them.

Instructions

  Fully explore every area. Many djinn are found by wandering around the game's hidden and out-of-the-way locations.

  Use abilities to move obstacles out of the way. Some djinn are hidden or blocked by objects that can be shifted or overcome by using abilities such as "Crush" and "Growth." Moving or getting around these blocks is key to full exploration.

  Interact with items in the environment. The path to some djinn only open when specific objects are utilized (such as lighting a dim torch).

  Become familiar with your character's abilities. Knowing what your character can do will make it clearer which obstacles and objects can be interacted with. Your character's abilities will grow as you progress in the game; anticipate that these new skills will be required at some point.

  Keep track of your djinn and their abilities. The game includes 18 each of Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Mercury djinn, each with unique abilities.

  Play through the game. Many djinn are obtained automatically as the story progresses.
