How to Get Through the Ice Path in HeartGold

The Ice Path of "Pokemon HeartGold's" Johto region bridges Route 44 to Blackthorn City, where Gym Leader Clair resides. It hosts several puzzles involving the ice and boulders inside, creating some difficulty for trainers. Deep inside Ice Path, you'll find another Hidden Move, or HM, Waterfall and a familiar face. A Kimono Girl, one of the five present in Blackthorn City, remains stuck inside the Ice Path. Using the HM Strength, cut a path through to find the missing Kimono Girl.

Instructions

- 1
  Head east from Route 44 and climb the stairs to the entrance to the Ice Path. Walk forward to reach the first puzzle; move your character one step north, one step west, one step north, one step west and south. Continue heading one step west, north and east to get through the puzzle. Go ahead to find the next puzzle, where you'll find the HM Waterfall.

  Move one step east, one step south, one step west and north; continue ahead by moving one step west, one step south, one step west, one step north and east to complete the next puzzle. Take the HM Waterfall from its location and head up the stairs nearby. Turn east to go down a ladder.

  Walk ahead on floor B1 to find a boulder puzzle. Push the first boulder on the left north until it stops; go around to its right side and push it east until it drops into the hole in the ground. Push the second boulder one step down and then left, before pushing it into the hole ahead.

  Travel right, pushing the third boulder southwest until it stops; push it one step east, south three times and north once before heading left and into the hole. Push the last boulder up twice, east once and north twice again; move to the boulder's left side and push it east twice, north once and left into the hole. Go to the ladder near the last hole to reach the next floor.

  Move one step west, one step south, one step west, one step north and east from the boulder at the start of floor B2. Take the item nearby, walk south and head up the ladder to the first floor. Walk left and push the boulder north to find a Kimono Girl stuck ahead. Head one step south and east to push her free. Travel down from her location to reach Blackthorn City after speaking to her.
