How to Get Steelix in SoulSilver

In "Pokemon SoulSilver" for Nintendo DS, steel-type Pokemon, such as Steelix, provide superior defense and have few weaknesses. Steelix evolves from the rock and ground-type Pokemon, Onix, and is very rare in the Johto region. After you battle and defeat the gym leader of Olivine City, Jasmine, she offers to fight you again in the future. After the second battle, she offers to trade you her Steelix for any other Pokemon, even those at a low level.

Instructions

  Go to Olivine City. Enter the gym to confront the leader, Jasmine. Defeat her in battle.

  Head to the Olivine Dining Room. Walk up to the counter and talk to Jasmine to get her phone number.

  Wait until Wednesday afternoon. Select your cell phone and then choose the entry for Jasmine to dial her number. This schedules a rematch battle.

  Go back to the Olivine Gym and defeat Jasmine a second time. Exercise caution, since her Pokemon are much stronger during this second match.

  Speak with Jasmine after the battle. She offers to trade you any Pokemon for her Steelix. When you accept the trade, the Steelix is added to your party.
