How to Catch Zapdos in Pokémon SoulSilver

You will fight and capture dozens of Pokemon in "Pokemon SoulSilver" for the Nintendo DS, but few are as hard to find as Zapdos. This legendary Pokemon with an Electric-type attack can be added to your roster if you can capture him in battle. The fight is not too difficult --- the hardest part is finding him. You must earn the last of the Kanto badges in a gym fight before meeting Zapdos near Cerulean City.

Instructions

  Earn the Earth Badge by defeating Blue at Viridian Gym. This will net you the last of the Kanto badges, which opens up many quests and objects in the game --- including the ability to find and capture Zapdos.

  Fly to Cerulean City and go to the power plant nearby on Route 10.

  Look around the left side of the building for Zapdos. Talk to him to begin a battle.

  Use a Ground-type Pokemon against Zapdos, who hits your party with Electric-type attacks. Discharge is the strongest move Zapdos will unleash against you. Hit Zapdos with Rock moves from your Ground-type Pokemon, or try Dusk Balls if you face this foe at night. Ultra Balls can also be effective.
