How to Get Bulbasaur in Heart Gold

The Bulbasaur is a starter Pokemon in Pokemon Leaf Green and Fire Red that can usually only be obtained by trading with those games. However, Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver modify the formula of other Pokemon games. The player travels to other regions of the Pokemon world and is then able to obtain starter Pokemon, including a Bulbasaur.

Instructions

  Start a new game. The game begins in the Johto region of the world.

  Play through the game defeating the gym leaders and collecting the eight gym badges.

  Defeat the Elite Four. Unlike other Pokemon games, the game does not end and will give you the opportunity to travel to the Kanto region.

  Defeat the gym leaders and collect the badges in the Kanto region.

  Go to Mount Silver and defeat Pokemon trainer Red.

  Return to Pallet Town and speak with Professor Oak. He will let you choose one of three starter Pokemon from that region. The choices are: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Choose the Bulbasaur.
