How to Get a Togepi in Pokemon HeartGold

Togepi is a normal-type baby Pokémon that first appeared in the second generation of Pokémon games. It makes a major appearance in the Pokémon television series as a mysterious egg given to Misty. In "Pokémon: HeartGold," players are rewarded with a mysterious egg after beating the first gym leader. The egg contains a Level 5 Togepi. Players must travel with the egg in their party for the egg to hatch.

  Beat Falkner in Violet Gym. Violet City is the third major city you encounter in the Johto region, and it is home to the first gym in the Johto Pokémon League. To reach Violet City, travel north from Cherrygrove City to Route 31 and then follow the path west into the city. Falkner uses two Pidgeotto, which are normal and flying-type Pokémon. Rock, electric and ice-type moves all do double damage to Pidgeotto.

  Leave the gym. Professor Elm will call you and tell you to meet his aide.

  Enter the Pokemart in Violet City.

  Talk to Professor Elm's aide. He will give you a Togepi egg.

  Walk around for awhile. The egg will take approximately 2,800 steps to hatch.
