How to Get a Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Diamond Without Action Replay

"Pokemon Diamond" is the fifth installment of the Pokemon gaming series. The game features more than 490 different Pokemon, each with its own set of attacks, strengths and abilities. There is, however, a unique set of monsters in the game called Shiny Pokemon. While these special Pokemon do not embody any unique battle attributes, they do have an original coloration that sets them apart from all other Pokemon. The chances of encountering a Shiny Pokemon in the wilds are incredibly rare, but they can be caught without an Action Replay cheat device via a method called Chaining.

Instructions

  Travel to Sandgem Town and speak to Dawn's kid sister. She will tell you the swarm for today, which forecasts which Pokemon you are likely to encounter that day.

  Head to the specified area where today's swarming Pokemon are located. This will vary, so consult your Pokedex for further information on the particular type of Pokemon you're seeking.

  Have your strongest Pokemon equip a Cleanse Tag and then place that Pokemon in the first position of your party. Kill any non-shiny Pokemon you engage in a single hit to speed up the process of finding a Shiny Pokemon.

  Get inside a wide patch of grass where your designated Pokemon type exist.

  Use your Max Repel. Then use your PokeRadar to see four patches of shaking grass. Make sure to reapply Max Repel whenever it starts to wear off.

  Enter the farthest, shaking grass until radar designates the next four set of shaking grass tiles. Step on the exact type of shaking grass you first entered and continue to the next shaking grass. Repeat about 40 times ore more. Note that the grass must always be the same type or you will break the chain.

  Kill any regular Pokemon you encounter. Never flee from these battles or you will ruin the chaining process.

  Enter a shining tile with four white flashing dots. Fight Shiny Pokemon.

  Use moves such as False Swipe or Super Fang to gradually lower the Shiny Pokemon's health. Throw a Pokeball when Shiny Pokemon is at its weakest health to capture it.
