How to Forget HM Moves in HeartGold

HM moves can be crucial for making your way around obstacles in "Pokemon HeartGold." If you have more than one Pokemon with the same HM move, you may want to remove one of the duplicate moves. To remove an HM skill, you'll need access to Blackthorn City. A trainer there will be able to remove any move, including HM moves, and will complete the task free of charge.

Instructions

- 1
  Go to Blackthorn City. If you have the HM move "Fly," you may travel to the city instantly if you have visited it before.

  Go to the house on the west side of Blackthorn City. Several trainers are there, including the one who removes HM moves from your Pokemon.

  Talk to the trainer on the left. The trainer is going bald.

  Select the Pokemon you want to remove skills from.
- 5
  Select the HM move you want to remove from the Pokemon. The slot will remain unavailable until the Pokemon can learn a new move.
