Wire Soldering
Plug in the soldering iron and let it warm up for at least five minutes.
Touch the solder to the tip of the soldering iron and lightly coat the tip. This is known as ̶0;tinning̶1; and helps even out the heat emitted by the soldering iron.
Grasp the soldering iron in the hand with which you write. Hold it like you would a pen or a pencil. Touch the wire to the port on the chip that you wish to solder and then touch the solder to the wire.
Touch the solder with the soldering iron. The solder will melt and coat the wire. Hold the wire in place for at least 30 seconds to let the solder solidify. Once the solder solidifies, the wire is secure.
Wire Locations
Place the d2pro chip on the empty space of the motherboard to the left of the chip with the text ̶0;GC2-D2C̶1; written on the top. There is a hole cut into the motherboard next to the ̶0;GC2-D2C̶1; chip. The d2pro chip will overlap the hole. Position the d2pro chip so the word ̶0;Actel̶1; is closest to the ̶0;GC2-D2C̶1; chip.
Rotate the Wii so the d2pro chip is on top and the ̶0;GC2-D2C̶1; chip is on the bottom. The bottom of the ̶0;GC2-D2C̶1; chip is the side farthest away from the d2pro chip. The top is the side closest to the d2pro chip.
Solder one of the provided blue wires between port ̶0;9̶1; on the d2pro chip and the 13th peg from the left on the bottom of the ̶0;GC2-D2C̶1; chip.
Solder a blue wire between port ̶0;C̶1; on the d2pro chip and the peg farthest to the left on the bottom of the ̶0;GC2-D2C̶1; chip.
Solder a blue wire between port ̶0;D̶1; on the d2pro chip and the second peg from the top on the left of the ̶0;GC2-D2C̶1; chip.
Solder a blue wire between port ̶0;E̶1; on the d2pro chip and the top peg on the left of the ̶0;G2C-D2C̶1; chip.
Solder a blue wire between port ̶0;F̶1; on the d2pro chip and the 10th peg from the left on the top of the ̶0;G2C-D2C̶1; chip.
Solder a blue wire between port ̶0;G̶1; on the d2pro chip and the 11th peg from the left on the top of the ̶0;G2C-D2C̶1; chip.
Solder a blue wire between port ̶0;H̶1; on the d2pro chip and the 12th peg from the left on the top of the ̶0;G2C-D2C̶1; chip.
Solder a blue wire between port ̶0;I̶1; on the d2pro chip and the 13th peg from the left on the top of the ̶0;G2C-D2C̶1; chip.
Solder a blue wire between port ̶0;J̶1; on the d2pro chip and the 14th peg from the left on the top of the ̶0;G2C-D2C̶1; chip.
Solder a blue wire between port ̶0;K̶1; on the d2pro chip and the 15th peg from the left on the top of the ̶0;G2C-D2C̶1; chip.
Solder a blue wire between port ̶0;L̶1; on the d2pro chip and the 16th peg from the left on the top of the ̶0;G2C-D2C̶1; chip.
Solder a blue wire between port ̶0;M̶1; on the d2pro chip and the 17th peg from the left on the top of the ̶0;G2C-D2C̶1; chip.
Solder a blue wire between port ̶0;N̶1; on the d2pro chip and the 18th peg from the left on the top of the ̶0;G2C-D2C̶1; chip.
Solder a blue wire between port ̶0;P̶1; on the d2pro chip and the 7th peg from the right on the top of the ̶0;G2C-D2C̶1; chip.
Solder the provided black wire between the ̶0;GND̶1; port on the d2pro chip and the open grounding port directly above the chip. The port is on the motherboard.
Solder the provided red wire between the ̶0;3V3̶1; port on the d2pro chip and an open power supply port on the Wii motherboard. There are two ports located next to a nearby screw. Solder the red wire to the port surrounded by a thin black square.
