How to Hook Up a Wii With Component Cables to LCD TV

Although the Nintendo Wii is not an HD device, it does support a component connection. The component connection works on LCD TVs and offers a high-quality video connection with the Nintendo Wii. All LCD TVs support a component connection. The Wii Component Video Cables are sold separately, not compatible with any other device and not supported by standard definition TVs.

Instructions

      Insert the rectangular side of the Wii Component Video Cables into the "Digital AV Out" port on the back of the Nintendo Wii.

      Insert the large green, blue and red component cables into the green, blue and red component inputs on the LCD TV. Component inputs are generally located on the back or side of the TV.

      Insert the smaller white and red AV audio cables split from the component cables into the white and red AV inputs on the LCD TV. The audio AV inputs are generally located next to the component inputs.

      Connect the Sensor Bar to the red Sensor Bar port on the back of the Nintendo Wii. Set the LCD TV to its "Component" video display mode. Turn the Nintendo Wii on. After a few seconds, the Nintendo Wii logo will appear.
